Best Foot Forward

16 01 2007

Most of us believe that we are responsible individuals. We work hard and do what we can to take care of the people and things that are important to us. Yet despite our best efforts, how many of us feel energized throughout the day? Are we engaged in our work and thriving in our relationships?

On a larger scale, how well are we prepared to deal with unexpected, chaotic or life threathening events that, through remote, can happen at any time today’s world?

You may be suprised to learn that becoming a totally responsible individual is the most powerful things you can do to enhance every aspect of your life, including your ability to do what is needed in almost any situation. But don’t worry, it does not mean that you have to assume more responsibility.

Becoming a totally responsible individual does require you to make taking care of yourself a top priority. It means that you have to stop doing things that diminsh your well-being and start doing things that make you feel better in five key areas. As Will Rogers said, “If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.”

Sound interesting? Or are you concerned that focusing o yourself may seem a little selfish? Then consider why airlines instruct you, should cabin pressure drop, to put the oxygen mask on yourself before assisting another person. If you can’t breathe, you can’t help anyone else.

Here the Five Behaviors of a Totally Responsible Individual.

  1. Get enough rest.
  2. Eat what your body needs.
  3. Get moving.
  4. Learn new things.
  5. Build your relationships.

That’s All

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Bloggers

16 01 2007
  1. Focus intently on a narrow niche, ideally one whose audience has a prdilection for high margin products. That will appeal to advertisers.
  2. Set up your blog so that each post gets its own permanent URL, or permalink, and its heading becomes part of its permalink and page title. Write descriptive, keyword-heavy headings, and be sure the homepage and all archives have links on every page.
  3. Think of your blog as a database, not a newspaper-like collection of dispatches. Your archives posts should be easy to find through Google and Technorati, so cite authors and publications by name, and use tags, categories, and keywords consistently.
  4. Blog frequently and regularly-if possible, at least half a dozen posts everyday before lunchtime, when many readers take a break from work and check out the blogsphere.
  5. Use striking images in your posts. They liven up the page and attract readers, and if you use caption, you’ll gain additional traffic by making it easy for Google Image search and other visual search engines to index your illustrations.
  6. Enable comments and interact with readers; cultivate your audience-that’s what advertises will be paying you for.
  7. Make friends with other bloggers, online and off. Link to their posts and they’ll return the favor. Other blogs may well send you most of your traffic.
